Whether they’re sporting eyeglasses frames or not, many people believe that the eyes are the windows to the human soul. And perhaps they’re right. Or are they? Below are some of the most common eye color and the personalities it might (or might not) entail.

Brown Eyes

Brown-Eyed-Cat

This is the most common eye color in the world. People who have brown eyes are believed to be attractive, adorable and confident. Since brown is considered an earthly color, people with brown eyes are also known for their simplicity, creativity and optimism in life. Relationships come naturally with brown-eyed people, as they are very affectionate and trustworthy, although they tend to be more practical than others. Research shows that brown-eyed people don’t expect to be looked at often. Thus, eye contact with them could either flatter them or make them uneasy.

Blue Eyes

When you think of blue eyes, you either think of the ocean or the sky. And it seems that people with blue eyes tend to own things with the similar shade. While brown eyes are the most common, blue eyes are among the most desired. Blue-eyed people are very energetic and are in long-lasting relationships. They are peaceful yet full of life, smart and kind. When it comes to the people they care about, they are more than willing to go the extra mile just to see you smile.

Green Eyes

Green-Eyed-Cat

People with green eyes are either like a breath of fresh air or like a gust of strong wind. Green-eyed people tend to be extremely attractive and beautiful. They have an air of mystery around them. But beneath those enigmatic layers, you will find an intelligent and passionate creature. On the other hand, green-eyed people also tend to be jealous – intensely, bringing life to the term green-eyed monster. But this seems a tiny setback compared to al the youthfulness and zeal they exhibit.

Hazel Eyes

Hazel-Eyed-Cat

A cross between brown eyes and green, hazel eyes are simply breath-taking. Hazel-eyed people are very spontaneous, adventurous and fun-loving. They have no qualms about trying new things. Adapting to any type of situation is one of their strengths. They tend to attract people, although they don’t last very long in relationships – unless you’re the one. Another weak point of hazel-eyed people are their temper. Handle that, however, and they’re sure to give you one of the best experiences of your life.

Grey Eyes

Grey-Eyed-Cat

Grey-eyed people have dominant personalities and have inborn leadership skills. They are very imaginative and creative, while dexterously using their inherent analytical and rational skills to face situations. Their best qualities include being strong yet wise and gentle. In fact, people with grey eyes are some of the least aggressive people you’ll ever meet. They take relationships very seriously and they tend to be solemn when it comes to love and romance.

Black Eyes

Black-Eyed-Cat

Believe it or not, black eyes are very rare. Many people simply have brown eyes so dark that they seem black. People with black eyes possess a very mysterious nature. Making eye contact with them feels like you’re immersed in a pool of night. True to their nature, they also tend to be secretive and quiet, reluctant to make friends or be involved in relationships. However, once they’re in your life, they’ll be among your most loyal buddies.

There have been a lot of studies and debate as to whether or not the color of your eyes has any effect on the human personality. And in spite the lack of scientific evidence that would prove otherwise, it’s clear that eye color does have an impact on how we and other people perceive us. While we cannot change our personalities, we can temporarily ‘change’ our eye color through wearing contact lenses. Consult with your eye doctor if contact lenses are a good option for you.
